William ("Bill") Davies, a successful and long serving member of Welsh Masters, sadly passed away.

William ("Bill") Davies, a successful and long serving member of Welsh Masters, sadly passed away on Sunday 13 February after a long race with illness. Apart from his medals at World and European Masters Championships, and heaps of them from the British Masters Championships, his achievements may be measured by the fact that he still holds no fewer than ten Welsh Masters records, as follows:

M75 400 Indoor

78.88

M75 800 Indoor

3:08.57

M80 800

3:26.3

M80 1500

6:52.0

M80 1500 Indoor

6:54.67

M75 3000 Indoor

13:40.13

M80 3000

15:45.74

M75 5000

24:35.34

M75 10000

49:43.9

M80 10000

52:28.90

The M80 1500 Indoor mark is also the current British Masters record.

All this was done with his own unique humour.

He leaves three children, one of whom is our Membership Secretary. Bill's contribution to Welsh Masters is manifold.
