There was a bumper mix of some highly talented and mixed ability athletes at the Coronation Day parkrun at Conwy last Saturday, which this week was again staged in very humid conditions and attracted many entrants dressed in colourful Royal tribute costumes, with cake made available at the finish. North Wales Road Runners entered sixteen members and had two of their top runners in the first three finishers in addition to claiming eight podium places and three age cat winners. Visitor Adam Jones was the 1st male runner home in just 16 minutes and 36 seconds, and he finished over a minute ahead of his nearest rival to easily win his SM25 age cat. The 1st female finisher was VW35 cat winner Hayley Turner (GOG Triathlon), 30th overall in 22.24, with Ella Grundy(Colwyn Bay AC), the 2nd female athlete, 32nd overall, and the JW15-17 cat winner, who was just ten-seconds behind Hayley in 22.34, with Michelle Farrell (GOG Triathlon) the 3rd female, and 48th overall, in 23.20. There were 325 finishers. NWRRC veteran Martin Green finished 2nd overall in 17.41, and he also won his MV45 age cat, with club colleague Steve Forsyth 3rd, and the MV40 winner, just three-seconds behind Martin.

Harry Driscoll finished 8th and he won his SM20-24 cat in 19.30, whilst Karl Morris was back to form in 18th place in 21.25, with Will Williams opting for a quieter recovery run this week in 19th place and 3rd MV50 cat in 21.34.

Jamie Tharme was another athlete taking things steady, and he was 21st in 21.50, with Steve Roberts the 3rd MV55 cat in 37th place overall in 22.57. Gethin Wyn Jones finished in 67th place overall in 24.28, and veteran Rob Fryer had a good run finishing 96th and 3rd MV65 cat in 25.53.

Meanwhile, newcomer Darren Griss finished 170th in 29.39, and Vicky Taylor made a rare parkrun outing in 181st place in 30.26, with Rachel Morris 227th in 33.28, and Gwennan Charlton running with her youngster finished 305th in 43.21.
