Fast times and a good turn out at the Llanrug 5k NW championship race.

There was a good turnout of over two-hundred runners at the midweek Llanrug 5k championship race despite the wet and windy conditions, and quite remarkably, the first eighteen finishers all dipped under eighteen minutes!
Meirionnydd athletes Tomos Roberts and Ifan Dafydd took the first two finishing places with Huw Gwynn (Eryri Harriers) third. Tomos recorded a superb time of just 15 minutes and 37 seconds, with Daffyd close behind in 15.42, and Huw in 16.29.
The first female was Tilly Edwards (Cybi Striders) in 18.01, with Tinka Vinks (Eryri Harriers) the runner-up in 19.14, and Elliw Haf Roberts (Eryri Harriers) finished third in 19.52.
*North Wales Road Runners had 15 members involved and young Joe Culverhouse led the team home with an outstanding performance in 25th place overall in a gun time of 18.29, and he was second in his MU18 age cat. Steve Gardner finished 32nd and won his M60 age cat in 18.50, and Will Evans was 49th in 19.49.
Stuart Culverhouse was 72nd in 21.02, and Adam Lemalle was 86th and recorded a new course PB in 21.57. Meanwhile, Dan Hennell finished in 89th place in 22.08, and Carla Green was the 3rd F50 cat in 94th place overall in 22.12. Meanwhile, master veteran and club chairman Kevin Slattery had an excellent run to win his M70 age cat in 22.18, and Cheryl Frost won her F60 cat with another fine run in 22.59.
Steve Roberts was 128th in 24.23, with Kay Hatton finishing 2nd in her F60 cat in 25.13. Hannah Griffith also enjoyed her evening out in 26.33 in 167th place, and Nia Lister was 176th in 26.56, whilst Gwen Charlton was 195th in 28.09.

*Colwyn Bay AAC had six members involved with Marcus Jones 51st in 19.54, and Neal Jones was 57th in 20.12, with young Josh Mottram 64th in 20.40. Ifan Wood finished in 76th place in 21.14, and Ian Taylor was 108th in 23.13, whilst Chris Williamswas 150th in 25.46.

Other road race results: *Swansea half-marathon: North Wales Road Runner Kay Hatton was part of the Wales team that competed in the international match within the Swansea half-marathon at the weekend. After her race she confirmed: “A good day at Swansea overall. Gemma Moore (Eryri Harriers) was 3rd F40, and she won the International Masters age cat F40 in 1.22.14, whilst Jonathan Kettle (NWRRC) ran1.17.17, and he was 9th M50, and I ran 1.45.28, and finished 9th F60.”

Bangor City re-arranged half-marathon: Stuart Culverhouse and Cheryl Frost took part in the re-arranged Bangor half-marathon on Sunday, and they both won their respective age cats. Stuart was 16th overall in 1.37.46 and he won his M50 cat; whilst Cheryl was the third female finisher and won her F60 cat in 1.43.50.
Runcorn Bridge 10k: Kevin Higgins (NWRRC) competed in the Runcorn Bridge 10k on Sunday, and he finished well in 59.03, which was some five-minutes quicker that his run at Manchester the previous week.
